Premiere: Rupert Marnie – Enchantment II

The stars were ever so wise up there – looking down on everything beneath and watching it all with a knowing sense of detachment. They’d been there forever, waiting for it all to unravel and come undone.

Folk would watch from down below, bedazzled by the enchantment of it all. The myriad of white dots against the deep, piercing blackness of space.

But there was nothing there. Nothing really.

It might all as well be static on a television screen, for the time and might it would take to meet and greet the stars above would beyond the realms of possibility for those who watched them from beneath.
