Nukuluk share video from debut EP on Spinny Nights

Nukuluk have released an official video for ‘Disaster Pop Song’, the final track to be taken from the South London experimental rap outfit’s debut EP.
The EP, Disaster Pop, matches abstract, warped and frenetic production with vocalists Syd and Monika’s commanding lyrics.
The mixed medium video was created by multimedia artist and filmmaker Leo DMB and blends stop motion and live action to correlate with the track’s ‘sonic push and pull’. The shoot took place in Woolwich in 2021 and then the animation shot over 12 days, with each frame of the video being printed out sustainable photo paper, painted, cut up and then filmed again in Leo’s makeshift studio.
Nukuluk are Louis, Olivia, Monika, Syd & Mateo. The collective draw from a wide range of influences and make music driven by the manifesto: “can you set the feeling of a song from the first sound?”
Nukuluk have also announced a monthly three date residency at South London venue Bermondsey Social Club, running from May through July, which will feature performances from themselves and other live contemporaries.
