Theo Parrish reworks Tone Control’s ‘Illusion’ for Wolf Music

Wolf Music have announced a new Theo Parrish remix of Tone Control’s 2008 release ‘Illusion’.
The Sound Signature boss is breathing new life into the track 14 years after it was first released on Tone Control’s own label. A deep house dream, and a classic anthem at Theo’s legendary Plastic People residency, the track is velvety smooth and full of soul and depth.
For his ‘SS Translation’ mix, he stretches out the original to a 10 minute long opus, adding a touch of that Theo magic we’ve all come to know. Building and layering new elements, he adds raw drum programming, a warm bass bounce and meandering keys, but retains all the emotion of Tone Control’s original mix.
‘Illusion’, written by Tone Control members Simon Finnegan and Marcus Harris, is a stone cold favourite of many key US house players, namely Kyle Hall, Jay Daniel and Kerri Chandler, the latter of whom was quoted back in the day as saying “…It is one of my favorite songs. Even the way the song is put together is honestly what house is all about for me. It’s got every element I love in one song, dope bass line, a different deep vocal, the sounds are hot (drums, even the way he made them swing, that Rhodes) all of it… Everyone I play it for they freak out about it.”
Theo Parrish’s Tone Control Mix will be released on 13th May via WOLF Music.
