Yorkshire experimental composer Kirk Barley releases new album Arc

Released by Marionette, a label home to releases by the likes of Valentina Magaletti, Max Loderbauer, and Soundwalk Collective, the record combines ‘glassy pads, gamelan metallophones, clarinet and guitar‘ which evoke ‘vast coastal landscapes, charged air and the stillness that follows turbulence‘.

As Bambooman and under his own name, Barley has released music on Matthew Herbert’s Accidental, 33-33, Odda and his own Health imprint. Barley also makes music as one half of Church Andrews & Matt Davies, a project which has garnered appreciative nods from the likes of Aphex Twin and Thom Yorke, who have both played the duo’s music in their sets.

Barley celebrates with an album launch show at Hope House in Leeds on the 7th August, with support from Elsa Hewitt. Free Entry.
