Stiletti-Ana returns to his own Haista imprint for a concept EP driven by improvisation rather than the need for perfection.

We all strive for perfection, from the most menial tasks to catastrophically life changing events. It can be an inherent quality in our day-to-day pursuits that can’t be shaken, no matter how hard we try. When we come to realise that perfection doesn’t actually exist, we can really be free, we can let go and be at peace with things taking their natural course. After all, the beauty is really in the imperfections; that’s what makes something truly one of a kind.

On his latest record, Helsinki-based producer Stiletti-Ana has put fun before the idea of a perfected product. Released via his own co-run imprint Haista, which he runs alongside his JESSE band mate Kalifornia-Keke, Automat Musik was conceived without putting focus on the details and the serious composition of music. Using the automat sequencer on his Arp2600 and Rhodes Chroma synths, he generated patterns that allowed him to sit back and enjoy the process. The result is a collection of slow trance-inducing tracks that connect the dots between his influences, from funk, jazz, krautrock and techno to the work of his musical hero Tangerine Dream’s Klaus Schulze.

Automat Musik will be released on 19th September via Haista.
