Timo Maas – Influences

Music

One of German electronic musics most colourful characters, Timo Maas has steadily built up an impressive reputation. With a history that includes 10 years as a resident at DC10 in Ibiza and his music featuring on several games, movies and TV shows, Timo still regularly brings in the crowds for his live performances. Ahead of his performance at Cocoon on March 22nd, we caught up with Timo to see which tracks have been his greatest inspiration.

Jonzun Crew - Pack Jam

My favourite ever electrotrack, one of the first albums on legendary TommyBoy Rec.

  • Jonzun Crew - Pack Jam

My favourite ever electrotrack, one of the first albums on legendary TommyBoy Rec.

  • Happy Mondays - 24 Hour Party People

A timeless, wild song from the old rave times…The motto is still valid today!!!

  • Aly-us - Follow Me

This used to be our hymn when we went with the friends to Berlin to go to underground parties in the early 90’s.

  • Newclues - Jam On It

Aaaahhhh….. Breakdance, ghettoblasters and all that shiat….Reminds me of my teenage years…

  • Killing Joke - Love Like Blood

Another big song for me personally in the 80’s. I love this kind of “Muse” feeling to it…Well, in my opinion…

  • Steve Poindexter - Work That Muthafucker

True classic from my very early house music times… I saw Mr Poindexter in the early 90’s in Hanover…Legendary!

  • Georgie Red - If I Say Stop, Then Stop

One of the most important songs of the 80’s for me…Rarely heard something sooo dirty and funky!

  • Lil Louis - Blackout

I killed my rare vinyl by playing it to death….What a track, what an atmosphere!
