New Business are hosting a launch party for Simian Mobile Disco's new album Murmurations tomorrow (25th May) at the Pickle Factory. Joining them on the night is Philadelphian selector, DJ, radio extraordinaire and warrior of the night Dave P. As one half of New York’s long-standing Fixed party, as well as running the Making Time night in his native Philly, Dave is restless in his quest for finding futuristic sounds and dancefloor transcendence. Currently in the middle of his “TRANSCENDENTAL European Tour”, Dave found the time to guide us through some of the tracks that are influencing him right now. From Anthony Naples to Gabe Gurnsey, dig in below.

New Business with Simian Mobile Disco & Dave P takes place 25th May, tickets are available here.

C.P.I. - Masa Y Poder

John Talabot is my favourite DJ in the world, so… of course his label Hivern Discs in my favourite label in the world. This new C.P.I. release from my fellow warrior of the nite Hugo Capablanca and my friend Marc Piñol is surely Hivern’s most TRANSCENDENTAL release of the year and quite possibly one of the most TRANSCENDENTAL of any releases this year. Obviously I’ve been playing this throughout my 2018 Dave P. TRANSCENDENTAL European futuristic sounds experience this month!

  • Anthony Naples - Ott

So… do you remember that time when you listened to a track in your headphones and you thought it sounded like something you might play around 12am but then when you played it in a club you realised you should have played it at 3am ? Well that happened to me when I played this TRANSCENDENTAL Anthony Naples MONSTER a the start of my 2018 Dave P. TRANSCENDENTAL European futuristic sound experience a few weeks ago at Garage in Paris. IT’S A FUCKING BEAST!!!

  • Daniel Maloso X Red Axes - En La Oscuridad

I would say I play just about every Red Axes track they release on my Making Time RADio show on WXPN in Philadelphia but when you combine Red Axes & Daniel Maloso with another one of my favourite labels in the world, Cómeme, well… PEAK levels of futuristic musical TRANSCENDENCE will surely be achieved!!!

  • Hardway Bros - Friedman Feedback Loop Revision (Max Pask Remix)

Max Pask is a fellow warrior of the nite in New York and one of my favorite people in the world and he’s also almost always my date when I run off to an afterhours warehouse party in Bushwick after I finish playing with my partner JDH at our FIXED at Good Room in Brooklyn, so much so that we even call each other “honey”. Well… one early morning while on one of our late nite journeys into a Bushwick sunrise he told me about this remix he did for his label Throne of Blood and I’m so glad he did because I’ve played it at every TRANSCENDENTAL futuristic sound experience I’ve DJ’ed during this 2018 Dave P. TRANSCENDENTAL European futuristic sound experience!!!

  • Gabe Gurnsey - Ultra Clear Sound

Erol Alkan and his Trash parties in London have been the greatest influences on my DJing and my Making Time parties in Philadelphia over the past 18 years, and so of course his label Phantasy Sound is one of my favourite labels in the world. When Gabe Gurnsey’s Factory Floor played Making Time party back in 2013 it was one of the most TRANSCENDENTAL live shows I’ve ever experienced in the history of the party. Phantasy Sound + Gabe Gurnsey must = FUTURISTIC MUSICAL TRANSCENDENCE, right??? I haven’t played this one yet but I can’t wait to play it on Friday at The Pickle Factory!!!
