The acclaimed producer has signed to the Scottish label celebrating the announcement with the release of a new single and music video.
Nosaj Thing has been a longstanding friend of the record label having played shows alongside the crew in both Glasgow and London over the years. His music is has most prominently featured on Innovative Leisure Records up until now, the Los Angeles based independent record company founded in 2010 by Hanni El Khatib, Jamie Strong and Nate Nelson. Nosaj Thing's music has often been associated with the wave of Californian producers who have orbited hip hop, lo-fi, electronica and beatmaking in recent years.
His new single see's him lend himself to a slightly different niche, an off centre house record with rough and rugged instrumentation and nods to the diy era of Chicago in the 80's and 90's. It comes alongside a new music video. Nosaj Thing describes his new music as follows:
“I've been experimenting with my own vocals since I started recording music but I haven't shared much of it; and while most of my work is programmed, the majority of 'For The Light' is played live. I hope this song can bring positivity and hope during a time of isolation.”
