Logos Remixes Uk Funky Don Apple On New Amy Becker Compiled 12″

Whatever happened to Apple? There was a time in the late 00s when his take on UK-Funky was a big part of the genre's appeal. Whilst other producers too often fell prey to producing dull plods of bongo loops and tasteful vocals, Apple created killers from the sparsest of ingredients, pulling together masterpieces from snapping drum hits, sampled Detroit chords, and little else. The results were tracks that sound as good now as they ever did, so it's with some interest that we noted Boxed boss Logos has remixed Apple banger De Siegalizer for a new 4 track EP curated by sometime 1Xtra DJ Amy Becker. Logos has taken the mournful chords and hard drums of the original and teamed them with the classic Think breakbeat, placing the track firmly within the hardcore continuum, in a way that suits it to the core.
