haim steinbach exhibition opens at Serpentine gallery next week

The Serpentine Gallery will open a major exhibition from the American artist Haim Steinbach next Wednesday, entitled – Once Again the World is Flat.

Steinbach’s work since the late 70s has been created by arranging everyday objects, exploring spatial themes and the human compulsion for collecting objects. Before the late 1970s, Steinbach was primarily a painter – producing minimalist works based around grid systems and placement of colour.

The exhibition will feature new installations as well as a number of older material dating back four decades and including some of his early paintings.
