Gangnam Style Has Now Officially Broken The Internet*

Music

*well, technically Youtube, but it didn't sound  as good.

PSY's little known toe tapper Gangnam Style has done the unthinkable; it has been watched more times than Youtube can actually compute. Since being uploaded on July 15th 2012, the sublime Korean rave pop masterpiece has been viewed 2,152,445,439 – or at least, that was the last number that Youtube could show. According to tech magazine CNet, that figure represents the highest number of views Youtube programmers had originally thought any video could possibly hope to achieve

"We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views)," Youtube boffins wrote, "but that was before we met PSY. 'Gangnam Style' has been viewed so many times we have to upgrade!" Currently, if you hover your mouse over the videos view count, the numbers start whirling like you've hit a Vegas jackpot. It then gives you some next figure which mathmatically represents the actual amount of times Gangnam Style has been watched. We doubt anyone has the mental capacity to visualise more than 2 billion units in one go- they may as well have written 'shit loads' and been done with it, but that's science guys for you: Very precise.

Meanwhile, we've found one guy who's uploaded a copy of Gangnam Style and it's only got 1 view. Yep, just the one. Don't press play, you'll ruin the perfection.
