Forest Swords aka Matthew Barnes announces new LP ‘Compassion’ due out this May on Ninja Tune, with the official video for the second single off the album, ‘Arms Out’, directed by Sam Wiehl.

The cinematic new single is just the start of a range of multimedia projects that will follow the album’s release in May, delivered via Forest Swords’ own Dense Truth label.

‘Arms Out’ offers percussive texture by pairing brushed snares and rumbling toms against a dawning string and horn arrangement, and a chopped pitched-affected male vocal that makes for a haunting and delicate track.

His signature score-like sound gives him a unique edge amongst his peers and he's scored for performance dance (Shine) and video game, Assassin's Creed. This style is clearly evident in the first two tracks released from "Compassion", which are a mix of digital textures, field recordings and compelling orchestral arrangements.

This is the second LP from the Merseyside-based producer, who released his debut, ‘Engravings ', in 2013 to critical acclaim.

'Compassion' is out on the 5th May 2017 on Ninja Tune.
