David Byrne & St. Vincent Announce Release Of Brass Tactics EP

After the release of Love This Giant last year, David Byrne & St Vincent embarked on a tour of North America and Australia that was like nothing they’d  ever done beforedrums, keys and Annie and David supported by 8 choreographed brass players. They did the new material, but also a lot of recognizable songs, arranged for that group. It turned out rather well. Touring a group that size with a fairly complex show was a big financial gulp, and it’s taken them a while to collect enough offers in North America and Europe, but now they are in and we kick off in a few weeks.

Offering a taste of what they’re up to – they’ve put together an EP to give folks a taste of what to expect. It has one song that didnt make it on the record (a waltz featuring some lovely glass harmonica), a couple of energized remixes of some of the album tunes and two live tracks of the sort of more familiar material they perform in the set…
