Lyra Pramuk announces rework release ft. Djrum, Verraco, Laurel Halo & more
Berlin-based multi-hyphenate Lyra Pramuk enlists Djrum, Verraco, Laurel Halo & John Tejada, Dumama, and Tarta Relena, to reinterpret tracks from her acclaimed 2025 album ‘Hymnal‘.
Described as a ‘cosmo-biological opus‘, Pramuk’s third album ‘Hymnal‘ is an ambitious synthesis of folk, house, techno, and neo-classical composition inspired by poetry, nature, community, and ‘the cultivation of slime mould‘. Reflecting on the album, Pramuk frames ‘Hymnal‘ as “a work of ecological grief, spiritual invocation, and queer embodiment drawing from devotional music, minimalist composition, and the communal inheritance of techno, gospel, and folk traditions. It’s a requiem for fractured ecologies and a testament to the resilience of life”.
Now she’s assembled an impressive cast to rework select tracks from the album for new release ‘Hymnal (Resung)‘, including Djrum, Colombian TraTraTrax lynchpin Verraco, Laurel Halo in collaboration with John Tejada, Catalan folk electronic duo Tarta Relena, and South African ‘futurist folk‘ vocalist and composer Dumama. She’s also contributed her own remake of album highlight ‘Reality‘.
In keeping with the lofty and imaginative ideas of the original album, Pramuk doesn’t define ‘Hymnal (Resung)‘ as a conventional remix album, but as “a polyphonic transmission, each piece a new vector in the ongoing dialogue between collapse and care, ancestry and futurity, the body and the earth.”
‘Hymnal (Resung)‘ lands on 5th June via 7K / pop.soil, more info HERE.
