Jon Phonics opens Steak Records store in Peckham

Steak Records has opened its doors in Holdrons Arcade on Peckham’s Rye Lane.

Run by Astral Black boss and Scenic Route co-founder Jon Phonics, the shop will provide the very best in ‘rare’ and ‘well done’ records.

Specialising in all kinds of sounds from house, techno and hip-hop to soul, library, jazz and much more, the shop will house a carefully curated selection of second hand gems, alongside new records from local labels like Eglo Records, Tiffs Joints and First Word.

Following Steak Records’ launch event on 11th February, which was streamed live on neighbouring stations Balamii Radio, the shop will be open regularly from Thursday to Sunday.

The opening of Steak Records coincides with Jon Phonics’ label Astral Black reaching its 10th birthday this year, which will include a run of forthcoming records from the likes of Jossy Mitsu, SusTrapperazzi, Samuel Organ, NigelThreeTimes and more.
