The inaugural edition will take place in September this year spearheaded by Ransom Note and Optimo.

Names were announced for the limited capacity festival set to take place in the Forest of Dean later this summer this morning. The hotly anticipated event is the first time that both Ransom Note and Optimo have hosted a festival with the 500 person event scheduled for the first weekend in September.

DJ sets and live performances at Watching Trees were teased this morning with highlights coming in the form of Joy O, Josey Rebelle, Maximum Joy, Aba Shanti-I, Oceanic, O Yuki Conjugate, Komodo Kollektif, Pleasure Pool, Scratchclart and many more.

Optimo have revealed their excitement at the release of the programme:

“Our line-up is a joyful patchwork of artists close to us and some we’ve admired from afar. We’ve ignored borders in music and followed our hearts. With limited funds this year – because we’re just 500 people – we’ve managed a line-up that feels immense to us. We’re eternally grateful to the artists who agreed to be part of this. We hope many of them will return year on year.”

Other names on the line up include Debonair, Budino, Lupini, Fantastic Twins, Josh Caffe, Junglehussi and Ivan Smagghe who commented on his longstanding relationship with the pair.

“Who else than Keith & Jonnie, eternal kidulthood heroes could have named a festival after one of my fave end of nighters. Some will moan about another “boutique festival” but that awful term doesn’t really fit here. This is just about music and nothing else, people raving in a field. Raving with accurate taste but still raving.”
