The second annual charity compilation on Andy Garvey’s Pure Space imprint.

There was something different about him that she couldn’t put her finger on. It wasn’t in the things he said or the way he moved, nor in the clothes he wore or the way he styled his hair. There was a sense of mystique that lured her in, although he appeared open he never gave too much away. She had to know what was under the surface; there was more to him than meets the eye.

DJ and producer Andy Garvey is kicking off the year on her Pure Space imprint with the second instalment of the label’s PROXIMITY compilation series. An exploration of the sounds that form Pure Space’s DNA, the release captures the contemporary electronic sounds coming out of the Australian underground. Calling on old friends, new faces and veterans of the country’s dance music scene, including Reptant, Moktar, IN2STELLAR and Sam Brickel, the 21-track release touches on everything from electro and breakbeat to techno, bass and DnB.

All proceeds from the release will be donated to Aboriginal Legal Services; based in Redfern it is the first Aboriginal Legal Service in Australia and the first free legal assistance service in the country.
