Authenticity was hard to come by; the way they dressed, the way they talked, their opinions on everything — it was always the same. They mirrored one another, stealing the most interesting parts of culture, news and the arts and packaging it as their own opinions and thoughts. They’d never strived for originality; they barely knew themselves…
It’s almost a year on since Lisbon imprint Magic Carpet took their first steps into the label world. Since their inaugural outing from Berlin-based producer Phyzikal Flex, they’ve added a second from Baby Rollén and now their on to lucky number three courtesy of Bristol’s Ramu. Marking his debut EP, it’s comprised of three tracks that call out to the dancefloor, working together elements of breakbeat, electro and jungle all wrapped up in dreamy atmospheres.
