Distinguished house music by a rising producer with serious pedigree.

Gallegos has been busy. We mean like real busy. Over the past seven years he has released a solid, steady stream of records which have worked their way in to the bags and hands of discerning DJ’s and has carved out a niche for himself as part of a rising array of new House music producers with integrity and gusto.

Releases on the likes of Rhythm Section, Slump, Banoffee Pies, Holding Hands and Curving Track have showed his versatility in respect to sound design, weaving between genres with ease.

As a dj his style is focussed on the purest of principles. House music is the fundamental bread and butter of what he does and he does it bloody well.

It’s not just us who have noticed. Next month he will appear at Panorama Bar as part of the twenty year celebrations of Berghain, no small feat.

A classy selector, we’ll let the mix do the talking.

Listen and read the interview below:

Please introduce yourself… Who are you, where are you and what are you?

My name is Gallegos. I’m a music producer and raver currently watching Jamanji (the original) on my sofa in Bristol.

What does your music sound like? Can you draw what you think it sounds like for us (an image from the old internet is acceptable)?

My music sounds like all my favourite pieces and influences from films and inspiring music that I have absorbed throughout life.

Where was the mix recorded?

I recorded this one at Pirate Studios in Bristol as I havent got my set up running at home at the moment.

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?

Anywhere that’s not a club already playing dance music 🤙

What would be your dream setting to record a mix: Location/system/format?

Nice booth, good monitors and a professional set up. I aint fussy tbh as long as its set up right, the music fits together

Which track in the mix is your current favourite?

A Guy Called Gerald & Energy

What’s your favourite recorded mix of all time?

Randall & MC GQ @ AWOL ’92

If you could go back to back with any DJ from throughout history, who would it be and why?

Danny Tenaglia. I love 90’s New York House. Lots of vocals and hits in the right way.

What was your first DJ set up at home and what is it now?

Numark Belt Drives – Numark mixer. Cambridge Audio amp.
Now – Two Technic 1210’s & Allen and Heath mixer

What’s more important, the track you start on or the track you end on?

Both equally as important and memorable to be honest. They both stay with people after you finish playing

What were the first and last records you bought?

First – Men In Black soundtrack in Cassette tape
Last – Lyon – Get 2 U

If this mix was an edible thing, what would it taste like?

Probably marmite. It won’t be for everyone but the real champs love marmite.

If it was an animal what would it be?

Sausage dog. Unpredictable them doggos

One record in your collection that is impossible to mix into anything?

There is no record that is impossible to mix. Old unquantified records can be tricky but never impossible. There is always a way to bring a record in, even if that’s something as simple as fade it fade out.

Upcoming in the world of…

Big old tub of bread sauce at Christmas Isnt far away now.

Anything else we need to discuss?

Just home from closing Panorama Bar last weekend and full of energy. I’m back to the big haus for their 20th Birthday on the 14th December to play b2b with _nd Baumecker again, which I’m really looking forward too
