Sutja’s Metaphysical Circus #6

Music

You awake early one morning and head instinctively to your bedroom window, still huddled underneath the covers. You look outside. There, an enormous red and blue striped tent is halfway through being erected. It's strange, you don't recall seeing any posters around town. Then you remember you don't have a bedroom window. You sigh and close your eyes momentarily. When you open them again you're lying down, looking up at the roof of the tent. As you readjust to the light, you can see there's something going on above you. There are lion-tamers up there, and seals jumping through hoops, and a ringmaster with a velvet tailcoat. He turns his head 180° and winks. Sutja's Metaphysical Circus has come to town.

Rainbow Ffolly - She's Alright

Not enough rainbows in the late sixties. Even if the band didn’t became successful enough, his one and only album ‘Sallies Fforth’ will always be a complete masterpiece.

  • Silver Apples I Don't Care What The People Say 1969

Simeon Coxe is all I care about. One of the greatest bands I’ve ever heard.

  • The Smoke - Looking Thru The Mirror (1968)

“Save your life before it comes” – More late sixties psychedelia starring Michael Lloyd’s studio project/band. Bittersweetness at his best hypnotic form.

  • Gong - Rational Anthem

Epicness and liberal naturalism. An amazing album by Gong. Daevid Allen sadly passed away this year.

  • Nick Nicely - Hilly Fields (1892)

Nice isn’t the right term. Stunning Nick maybe? Nick Nicely has a magic touch that not everybody has.

  • Spirit Child

I’ve recently discovered this artist because of the reissue of his amazing album on Light In The Attic. Available now in stores

  • Alessandro Alessandroni - Jeune Flirt

This song makes me feel specially good. Try it while travelling. Alessandroni provides you the perfect recipe for a magic life soundtrack.

  • Come Wander With Me - Jeff Alexander

In many ways it’s like the calm before the storm. This song by Jeff Alexander feels like home. I want my innocence back.
