Shouts to the Vatican Top Boy! Following collaborations earlier this year with the likes of Kwam, Mina and rAHHH, Italian club producer Lorenzo BITW has a new single out this week on Rushmore's Trax Couture label. 'Drums' comes in the form of a very cool t-shirt that includes a free download of the track, which is a militant funky stomper with a wicked bassline.

Listen to 'Drums' below, then scroll down to listen to Lorenzo's top tier influences selections, from Cooly G and Jam City to Karizma and Dj Missdevana:

The Drums t-shirt/single release is out 15th September on Trax Couture. Pre-order here.

Karizma - Groove Da Dub

Karizma’s swing is so unique. His drums have got such a natural feeling and I love that. Not only for drum programming, Karizma is such an inspiration for me, and he had a massive influence on the UK funky sound.

  • Karizma - Groove Da Dub

Karizma’s swing is so unique. His drums have got such a natural feeling and I love that. Not only for drum programming, Karizma is such an inspiration for me, and he had a massive influence on the UK funky sound.

  • Marco Del Horno - Samurai (Dj M.A.1 Remix)

One of the most underrated funky heroes. DJ M.A.1 is such a legend. Drums, swing, groove, emotions and so much more go into his production. I used to love his Rinse FM Saturday slot, it’s such a shame he’s disappeared now.

  • Batida - Bazuka (Quem Me Rusgou)

Moving away from the UK territory now. Batida is such a big influence on me. He is actually from Portugal, but his sound is so unique and ‘Bazuka’ is such an anthem.

  • Dj Missdevana - Brass

Recently she released an EP on Nervous Horizon. I love how her production is minimal but still so effective, I can relate to that so much. Love this tune too, it’s wild.

  • Hard House Banton - Reign

Going back to the UK, Hard House Banton was a pioneer in the funky house sound. This is one of his early anthems – big, big, big tune and massive drums.

  • Jam City - Her

‘Classical Curves’ is such a masterpiece for our generation, swear down it’s the best album made since 2000. This song is so fierce and works so well in a drums set, I still love playing this tune out.

  • Bazzerk African Digital Dance Compilation

This compilation curated by Jess & Crabbe is still a masterpiece, it came out in 2011. It features so many interesting and incredible artists and I still play out some of the tunes, absolute gold.

  • Cooly G - Oi Dirty (Ft. Scratcha Dva)

Cooly G is such a good producer, and I love the fact that she sings on her beats. This one with Scratcha is such an anthem still, big big riddim.
