Aggborough and Ashworth have recently been comissioned by No Real Value to produce a club record made up of field recordings. This sounded like it would fit right up our street so enquired about the possibility of running a feature with the pair. The aim of the release is to explore the value in sound in relation to a particular time, event or location and translate it for the world of clubs. The Italian Futurist composer has had a massive impact on my work and the way I look at industrial sound in relationship to music. This particular piece reminds me of the kind of industrial sounds that might have filled the Welsh valleys when the mines were actively taking the slate from the hill side and creating the gigantic Slag Heaps on which I am imagining to stand.
