8 Tracks: Of Solitary Isolation With Vio_L3t

Music

Following on from Last Japan's LUNA, the next release on Coyote Records comes from Somerset producer VIO_L3T. Out 15th June, his debut EP Cloud-Tech showcases a futuristic, sci-fi take on hip-hop/grime beat making that should appeal to fans of Sami Baha, Kuedo and Silk Road Assassins.

“These are some of the tracks I like to stare at the fields and trees outside of my window and listen to", VIO_L3T says of his 8 Tracks selections. "I like music that gets me caught up in my thoughts and I like green open spaces." From Ryuichi Sakamoto to Lanark Artefax to Ecco2k, dig in below.

Cloud-Tech is out 15th June via Coyote Records, pre-order it here.

Telefon Tel Aviv - Something Akin To Lust

The sense of space in this track takes my breath away. If I was an eagle I’d listen to this all the time while I soared over mountains.

  • Telefon Tel Aviv - Something Akin To Lust

The sense of space in this track takes my breath away. If I was an eagle I’d listen to this all the time while I soared over mountains.

  • Ayya - Second Mistake

This was featured on PAN’s compilation ‘Mono No Aware’. I could pick out several tracks from that comp but this one stands out.

  • Ecco2k - Perfectlystill

Short but sweet. I’m a long time fan of GTB/SBE and since this came out I’ve always gone back to it.

  • Ryuichi Sakamoto - Ubi

From his latest album released last year. The whole album is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Lanark Artefax - Voices Near The Hypocentre

Lanark has been one of my favourite producers in the past year. I don’t really have any words for this track or the rest of his music.

  • Arca - Piel

The opening track on his self-titled album. Obviously it’s going to be absolutely stunning.

  • Mr. Mitch Ft. Palmistry - Vpn

Everything about this track makes me feel like I could float if I really wanted to. Palmistry’s voice
gliding over Mr. Mitch’s minimalist production fits so well.

  • Bladee & Ecco2k - Cinderella

Second track with Ecco2k, I know, but I had to put this on the end. I’ve listened to this too much
thanks to YouTube’s algorithms. The video is beautiful, as well as Whitearmor’s production.
