Timothy Clerkin returns to Insult To Injury for another rave-indebted EP

Label boss Timothy Clerkin returns to Insult To Injury – the imprint he co-runs with us at Ransom Note HQ – for three rave stompers, backed up by a remix from Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw.
A true dedication to the foundations of rave, title track Psalm honours the past but also looks to the future in its forward-thinking production. 'Slave Too' follows, taking things up a gear with heavy breaks and savage detuned stabs.
On the remix is Jas Shaw, a man that has been a source of inspiration for Tim for many years – even his project the Eskimo Twins was formed outside a Simian Mobile Disco gig at The Cockpit in Leeds. Flipping the rave but maintaining the pressure, Jas puts emphasis on the pounding kicks and endless mutations in and around the groove. Wrapping up proceedings is 'Exist Between The Spaces', a woozy and disarming trip that serves as a perfect finale after Psalm's rave epic.
