The Wag Nightclub Celebrated With Box Set Collection

For the first time ever, the musical legacy of feted London nightclub and ‘haven for misfits’ The Wag is explored over 4 discs with a selection of remastered and rare Latin, disco, hip hop and jazz. With guests and performers that included Larry Levan, David Bowie, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, The Wild Bunch, Andrew Weatherall and Talking Heads, the Soho club had a strict entry and no-photo policy, with a high fashion and extroverted crowd. Curated by it's founder and music journalist Chris Sullivan, this box set covers a period from the Wag’s inception in 1982 to 1986. A forthcoming Volume 2 will cover the acid house explosion and the breakthrough of hip-hop in the UK, through to it's close in 2001.
