New Radio App Balamii Launches

Accessing quality underground digital music in this day and age can be baffling, exhausting, elusive or all of the three. So it's nice to see someone take a punt at an interesting new approach to just this. Balamii is a new free app that has launched for iPhone and showcases mixes from underground artists, both up and coming and established, for your listening pleasure. The Balamii team tirelessly trek around London, showing up at sweaty venues to record live mixes of djs in session. Then these are uploaded onto the app and all of the tracklists are linked up so that the individual tunes can be bought in the space of one click.
This is all done in a similar, and seamless vein as you can do with Mixcloud for example, but rather than just being a barrage of individual users uploading their sets online Balamii has a handpicked edge. It's an interesting new take on how to access digital music at a time when any new approach to increasing sales of music is definitely something to be welcomed. Watch this space.
