Montreal producer Honeydrip set to release debut EP ‘Anti-Ego’
Montreal-based DJ and producer Honeydrip is set to release her debut EP ‘Anti-Ego’ this Friday 30th July.
An exploration of the intersection of Black culture and electronic music, the release draws inspiration from soundsystem culture, fusing elements of reggae, DnB, dancehall, techno and dub to create something refreshingly new and contemporary.
The first single to be released, ‘Brand New Flava’ which features King Shadrock, comes complete with an audiovisual experience created by Emma Forgues. An extension of the influences across the release, the video ’embodies the interaction of Caribbean and digital exploration’ visualised through ‘an immaterial world through latex, velvet, honey, glassy textures, ¼ inch jack cables, uncanny dance moves and morphing bodies.’
Honeydrip is a DJ and producer based in Montreal, Canada, with a background in electroacoustic studies. Her DJ sets and productions marry leftfield techno, bass, breaks and more.
