Marrying together his science PhD and background in audio-visual art, Cooper has become known for his unique fusion of electronic music, imagery and scientific enquiry.

His forthcoming album ‘Unspoken Words’ sees him attempt to depict the difficulties of communicating with words, offering a unifying space for anyone who faces internal discordance and feels the need for greater connection. He elaborates: “I’ve always struggled with words. Trying to communicate anything meaningful about my internal state, in any way which seems to do it justice, has always been beyond me. But music bypasses language. It is my means of expression, which is why I make a lot of it – I’m compelled to create.”

Whilst the album is set for release on the 25th March via Cooper’s own imprint, Mesh, today he releases ‘Exotic Contents’ – a single and its accompanying video which features both the creative and technical input of artist and machine learning specialist, Xander Steenebrugge.

The video takes from the writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein, using an AI system to re-interpret his meditations on the inadequacy of language to delineate our place in the world. Steenbrugge explains: “The video was not ‘designed’ by me in the same way that traditional visual artists would design a music video […] I wrote all the code that runs the AI pipeline”.

You can find the video below, complete with timestamps and the corresponding language prompts which were used to create the visual narrative.
