Listen: Philipp Gorbachev – The Weeping Tune

Music

PG Tune is ready to unleash the third instalment in their series of digital only releases. The new project has seen the curation of a more techno-leaning side to Philipp Gorbachev, progressing into more sombre, dark territory with each release. Power Of The Funk and Let's Dance were big techno hitters, but both had a wry sideways glance, an unexpected electro chord here or a Kraftwerk-esque vocal there lightening the intense thrumming.

'The Weeping Tune' is pretty a solidly serious eight minutes. Pining strings staccato over the gloomy, surging bass punches and harsh snare claps, which break down into sobbing syncopated hisses before slamming back into the full force of the rhythm. It's a tense, crest-fallen affair driven along by Gorbachev's fuzzy, bellowing drums.

Here's a little glimpse behind the scenes with PG himself;
