Junq set to release new EP on his Art Mechanical imprint

Music

Veteran electro and acid producer Junq is back at it with another stellar release. Using Art Mechanical as a personal platform to share his music, this third release bears the technical and textured complexion that has become synonymous with the label. COG003 revisits some of the producer's classic tracks, music that was released as far back as 2002. Opening track Stealth Shadows channels an ominous and deep vibe with its punchy electro kicks, strung out bassline and sci-fi vocal commands. The track was first released in 2002 on Junq's Wandering Soul label. Originally on his Lila Dreams EP, Closer's catchy acid line marries synergetically with the spirited breakbeat percussion projecting the track forward. Snappy snares juxtapose the lethargic 303 sounds, before a thick bassline hums beneath the beats. On the flipside, From Below, a track previously released on Cultivated Electronics over a decade ago, is a rocket-fuelled electro cut. Dense kicks, a rumbling bassline and wonky acid melodies complete this classic tune. Concluding the EP is Lila Dreams, another revisited number that was part of the producer's 2017 EP on Further Electronix. Spacey pads and a dreamy melody drift over the top of precise drum work, showcasing Junq's expert technique.

The EP will be released on 16th February both digitally and with a few physical options: as a standard black vinyl with both white or black labels, limited white vinyl with white or black labels, and as limited marble vinyl with white labels. Don't sleep on this!
