James Holden Sets Off On First Uk Live Tour

Dj turned modular synth wizard James Holden has announced plans to embark on his first ever UK-wide live tour. Holden had kept his live experiments contained in the studio, until Thom Yorke invited him to join Atoms for Peace on the road as they toured North America. Joining up with Rocketnumbernine drummer Tom Page, Holden's live show has seen a synth and drums improvisation, using tracks from his recent album The Inheritors as a kicking off point, and spiralling out into the cosmos.
The Holden headline dates run as follows:
26 April – Haunt, Brighton Tickets
27 April – Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds – Tickets
28 April – Sage Hall Two, Gateshead – Tickets
29 April – Colston Hall, Bristol Tickets
30 April – Kazimier, Liverpool Tickets
1 May – Art School, Glasgow – Tickets *
* = with Karen Gwyer
Prior to his UK tour, Holden will be taking part in a special one off show at London's Barbican on April 9th, where his syths will be playing alongside the Tabla drums of Camilo Tirado in a new piece inspired by the works of legendary American minimalist Terry Riley. Young Turks’ Koreless and Border Community’s Luke Abbott will also perform their own Riley-inspired pieces. More info on that show over here
