I Love Techno

Music

Belgium has given the world a lot – not just mussels, frites, quality chocolate and incredibly dry, bureaucratic government. For eighteen years they've been giving the world I Love Techno, a showcase of some of the worlds finest electronic music. Not just techno, the largest indoor festival in Belgium, held at the Flaners Expo in Ghent, covers a whole cornucopia of machine music and this year features the likes of Modeselektor, Benga, Dave Clarke, Vitalic, Boys Noize and Erol Alkan – quite the spread of styles, sounds and bpms.

I Love Techno's coloured room concept, which has become famous – yellow, green, orange, red, blue – will once again grace Flanders Expo and this year the festival has been scaled up, with one of the five rooms relocating to the biggest hall in Flanders Expo allowing even more room to get your gurn on.

This year, Erol Alkan has been tasked with the job of curating and mixing the I Love Techno album, out in October, and only adding to the festival's brilliance.

I Love Techno takes place on Saturday 10 November at the Flanders Expo in Ghent.
