Greensleeves To Release Lp Of Reggae Dedicated To Clarks’ Shoes

Music

The Jamaican love of the Clarks shoe has been fairly well covered in recent years. Aside from Vybz Kartel's anthemic love song to England's favourite comfortable shoe (called, prosaically enough, Clarks), there has been Al Fingers' recent coffee table tome Clarks in Jamaica, offering ample photographic evidence of reggae artists flexing all manner of box fresh desert boots.

Now those long-standing titans of reggae and dancehall, Greensleeves, are to release a compilation to accompany the Fingers book. Sharing the title of Clarks in Jamaica, the album rounds up a plethora of golden age dancehall cuts from the likes of Eek-A-Mouse, Super Cat, Dillinger and more, all singing the praises of the humble Clarks shoe. When they're offering tracks as ace as Little John's Clarks Booty, you know it's worth a look –

Clarks in Jamaica is coming on both vinyl and CD on October 16th
