Francois X launches new imprint ‘XX LAB’

Music

Paris-based producer François X has announced the launch of his new label XX LAB, which will act as a research platform for independent artists.

The label will focus on the more avant-garde side of electronic music, fuelled by an approach based on “utopiam socialism and forward thinking principles”. The platform is also inspired by science fiction and the idea of secret corporations, who bring a notion of greatness and development that favours the human race.

XX LAB kickstart proceedings with a V/A compilation that features music from emerging talent like Vel, Elise and Uncrat, and more established names: In Aeternam Vale, Ryan James Ford and François himself. Made up of eight tracks, the release touches on electric dub, synthwave, techno, ambient and IDM, which will be released digitally accompanied by a USB card, representing a fictional access card to the advanced research departments of XX LAB.
