Deviating from their usual dayglo club bangers, Mad Decent have just released 'Still Life', the sophomore album from Dawn Gold. The album trades in layered, hushed folktronica and bedroom soul - we haven't been able to face listening to the obligatory Diplo trap remix treatment (sounds like a bad idea from the off tbh) - but the album proper is proving to be quite a grower. This indicates the label's further commitment to 'doing an XL' - i.e. shifting from releasing predominantly dancefloor material to focusing on a wider genre non-specific 'good music' remit, check it out below, and buy a physical copy from Mad Decent store
