Charles Webster to release first album in almost two decades

Music

The prolific, acclaimed musician has invited a number of guests to collaborate on a special album due for release in November later this year via Dimensions Recordings. Charles Webster remains one of the most innovative musicians in house and electronic music having amassed a lengthy career releasing music via the likes of Peacefrog and Defected. His taste is broad, as to his production merits with Charles having also produced music for the likes of hip hop outfit The Rock City Crew and another early techno-house band T-CUT-F.

On the new album, titled “Decision Time”, he has collaborated with Burial, Shara Nelson, Thandi Draai and Emilie Chick amongst others. However, perhaps the most surprising collaborator on the record comes in the form of Ingrid Chavez, a Mexican-American poet and vocalist who was once a protégé of Prince and released prominently on Paisley Park in the 90’s. Her voice lends itself to two tracks on the record, one of which is in conjunction with Burial.

Ahead of the album release on the 20th of November, Charles Will release an EP featuring three versions of “The Spell” – a track taken from the new album. It will also include a Burial mix and a Charles Webster dub. This will be available from the 9th of October.
