Apollo Records Announce Digital Release Of Vakula’s ‘A Voyage To Arcturus’
Originally given a physical-only release in 2014, Ukrainian producer Vakula’s neo-cult album A Voyage To Arcturus will be made available digitally for the first time through Apollo Records on 24th August.
Performed by a rotating cast of 14 musicians, the record was envisioned as a soundtrack to David Lindsay's 1920 sci-fi novel of the same name, with each of its 16 tracks titled after the book's chapters. Journeying between ambient, dub, experimental disco, tropical jazz, psychedelic rock, kosmiche, prog and sci-fi soundtracks, the album is an attempt to expand beyond conventions of modern electronic music.
Since its release, Vakula has continued his hugely prolific output, releasing on labels such as Dekmantel and his own Bandura imprint.
