Acid Pauli announces new album & shares title-track

Across eleven tracks, ‘Mystic Meltdown’ finds Acid Pauli pulling techno, house, ambient and psychedelic electronics into a single, constantly shifting trip. The album also features collaborations with Hani Mojtahedy, Sophie Hunger and Ugandan collective Kingdom Molongi, alongside traces of Martin Gretschmann’s own musical history.

The title track is the first thing to emerge from the record, a hypnotic, high-energy collision of pulsing electronics and otherworldly vocals from Kingdom Molongi. It gives a good indication of the album’s restless energy, where one idea bleeds into the next and the journey matters as much as the destination.

‘Mystic Meltdown’ is Acid Pauli’s first full-length since 2020’s ‘MOD’, bringing together the different musical worlds Gretschmann has inhabited through Acid Pauli, Console and The Notwist. Years of travelling and musical exchange have found their way into the record, from the Kurdish vocals of Hani Mojtahedy on ‘Goman (Remix)’ to Sophie Hunger’s Spanish-language take on Lhasa de Sela’s ‘Con Toda Palabra’.

There are stranger connections too. ‘Yes, Caroline’ hints at an abstract relationship with the Beach Boys’ ‘Pet Sounds’, while ‘Mystic Feedback’ brings Kingdom Molongi back into the fold. Gretschmann describes the album as a process of “building up, going into different spheres and emotions”, moving through darker shades in search of light. Which is probably as good a way as any to describe an Acid Pauli record that refuses to stay in one place for too long.

‘Mystic Meltdown’ is out on 20th November 2026 via All Is Acid.
