Golden Bug: The Ransom Note Mix

Up next is a producer and disc jockey who has been on the radar for quite some time, a familiar face who has released a sprawling array of music on some of our favourite labels across the last ten years. His music has appeared on the likes of Gomma, Höga Nord Rekords, Les Disques De La Mort and his own La Belle label, of which he is a founding member. 

We are talking about Golden Bug, a producer who has worked tirelessly and released an innovative collection of music which draws influence from krautrock, house, techno, electronica and new wave. His style is varied and unique, channelling a punk esque aesthetic in a powerful, forward thinking manner. This is also prevalent when he dj's, as you are about to find out. Not one to stand still or play to the confines of genre – his sets are far reaching and eclectic.

Please introduce yourself…

I am Antoine Harispuru aka Golden Bug : I am french and i live in Barcelona. I run my own label called La Belle records and i also release material on Les Disques de la mort , Höga Nord and Multi Culti.

Who are you, where are you and what are you?

Now i am in a village on the Costa Brava working on a remix for Ultra Satan.

What does your music sound like?

It’s sounds like the inside of an East German military liaison in 1975 where the tabulating machines haven't had service since the raise of the Berlin wall.

Where was the mix recorded?

I recorded this mix at the Voyage Voyage 8 years anniversary at Wilde Renate – Berlin.

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?

A good sound system & some good drinks.

What should we be wearing?

Some running shoes , a leather jacket and a candy bag.

What would be your dream setting to record a mix: Location/system/format?

Small club , good sound system and open minded crowd.

Which track in the mix is your current favorite?

I really love the song by Charlotte Adigéry produced by Soulwax called Patenipat and released on Deewee records.

What’s your favourite recorded mix of all time?

The DESPACIO set at Sonar Festival 2018 : 7 hours of pure joy.

If you could go back to back with any DJ from throughout history, who would it be and why?

Vladimir Ivkovic , Wolf Müller , Kasper Bjørke , Ivan Smagghe , Asaf Samuel , Marc Piñol , Gilb’r , Danny Daze , Manfredas , 2 many Dj’s , Alex Arpeggio , Álvaro Cabana , Javo Redondo , Fabrizio Mammarella :a broad spectrum of brand new experimental music, along with ancient oddities of every perceivable genre.

What was your first DJ set up at home and what is it now?

I used to have two technics SL 1200 at home and now i just have one and good monitors.

What’s more important, the track you start on or the track you end on?

Both are important : How to tell a good story without a good start and a good end ?

What were the first and last records you bought?

The first record i bought were a Beastie boys – Licensed to Ill and the last record i bought is Francisco & Cosmo – Music , released on Slow Motion records.
