Gallo: The Tropical Hinterhof Mix

Berlin-based producer Gallo is at the heart of the nu-balearic scene, and after hearing his excellent pair of EPs this year, we had to tap him up for our Monday mix series.

Today, Gallo presents his Tropical Hinterhof Mix, the name taken from an ongoing remix series, represented here by his take on 'Find Another Breeze' by J-Walk. Having lived on the ground floor of a dark, cold Neukölln backyard for the last six years, Gallo emphasises his "need to recreate a tropical environment… for music making", hence the name.

The mix opens with a pair of Gallo originals – the title track from his Sverna EP which came out last month via Hell Yeah Recordings, and another from his forthcoming release on Clandestino. Loads of other goodness in there from the likes of Khotin and Jansen Jardin. Listen here:
