Matthias Kremsreiter and Christian Schoppik combine for a new collaborative album exploring the liminal space between waking and sleep.

Roudi Vagou and Läuten der Seele as Taghelle Nacht present sixteen miniatures that weave swooning samples among instrumental passages. Kremsreiter debuts his Roudi Vagou pseudonym with Schoppik, known for his work in Brannten Schnüre and his Läuten der Seele ‘water trilogy’,

“The idea behind ‘Taghelle Nacht’ is more an ode to our big uncertainties than a reference to artistic movements like Surrealism or experimental music culture, even though it grew out of them,” the artists explain. “The world is so full of supposed insecurities and forms of arrogance that we felt it was important to offer a kind of undecided counter-statement. In sleep, but also when we’re awake, thoughts and images dissolve — things we once believed would guide us safely through life suddenly shift or even turn into their opposite. During a ‘Taghelle Nacht’ this ambivalence demands withstanding.”

Mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi with layout by Johannes Schebler and vinyl manufactured at R.A.N.D. Muzik Leipzig’s ‘Taghelle Nacht’ is an evocative depiction of the surreal blend of memories and imagination that merge as the sun goes down.
