White Hotel welcome Hyperdub affiliate Foodman for a live set as part of a grassroots charity event initiative.

Taking place at the Mancunian club space on Monday 25th April, the night is themed around “transcend:dance”, and allowing the body and music to elevate your soul.

Japanese producer Foodman aka 食品まつりheads up the bill with a very special live set, as part of his EU tour. He’ll be supported by Manchester-based Industries, the project of German-born Markus Hetheier, who’ll also be playing live.

Tokyo-based producer and visual artist ⻝品まつり a.k.a foodman a.k.a Takahide Higuchi colours outside the lines, shunning convention with his intuitive and precise take on a wide breadth of musical influences from techno, house and pop to raw electronic percussion, concretism, footwork and ambient. Last year he released his first full length LP for Hyperdub, Yasuragi Land, and has also released music for Good Enuf, Sun Ark and Orange Milk.

Industries’ live set blurs the boundaries between techno and ambient, blending abstract rhythms, field recordings and distorted sounds with harmonic melodies and large beats.

The event is part of the Fightback: Grassroots Promoter initiative from Music Venue Trust and PRS Foundation, with all profits being donated to Music Venue Trust to support their invaluable work.
