This time it is definitely coming home, it has to, surely…
Today marks the start of Euro 2020 in 2021, I’m not quite sure how that works but it does. A summer of non stop back to back football has arrived and English fans have once again dusted off their kits, you know, the one one with the three lions on that doesn’t fit quite as well post lockdown as it did before. Soon towns and cities across the countries will be full of sunburnt hooligans drinking cans singing songs about the queen all the while proclaiming they went to school with Phil Foden. It’s the stuff summer dreams are made of…
Meanwhile, a pandemic RAGES ON.
Anyway, this week the main topic of discussion has been around whether or not “Freedom Day” will go ahead. This is the term which has been given to ‘the great release’ on the 21st of June, when restrictions are supposedly meant to end and we can dance in the streets and clubs. Whether this happens or not is another question. It presently looks doubtful but we can always hope…
It’s the queen’s birthday tomorrow as well, I hope she has a lovely time, with cake, champagne and a good box set on the tele. That’s how I like to imagine her having it anyway…
