Utopia Exhibition Set For The Roundhouse

The utopia we all imagine as the alien city of London is coming to life at Bloomberg's Summer At The Roundhouse from 4th – 23rd August Award-winning director and filmmaker Penny Woolcock is known for her work featuring social cohesion, often of those living in London that can be seen in her work 1 Day and One Mile Away about inter-city gangs and street hustlers. Together with designers Block9 (Stephen Gallagher and Gideon Berger), a visual installation takes over the main space in the Roundhouse that will focus on inequality, consumerism, housing, gentrification, education, crime and social media.
In this complex mix of social frictions we all see at some point (why is my rent so expensive?!) the installation is bound to be made of great things as Block9 have a history of bringing huge installtions to life at towering heights – Glastonbury with their decaying 50ft tower, Lana Del Rey's 2015 US Tour and Skrillex's 2014 World Tour. The installation is set to be an insight into London today and the challenges faced by city living, mixed with art and sound to create total city experience, just in case you hadn't already had experienced it.
Utopia takes place from 4th-23rd August, find out more and grab your tickets here.
