Reflecting the East Ends burgeoning music scene, live music has played an increasingly prominent role at the East End Film Festival, so much so that this year the festival announces a brand new initiative:

EAST END LIVE is a one day, multi-venue music festival in conjunction with the Independent Label Market, featuring breakthrough and more established bands and DJs from East London and beyond. 

The festival runs from 5pm to 5am across at least five East End venues on Saturday 13 July, the lineup includes post-punk heroes The Monochrome Set, psychedelic indie rockers Toy, Leeds metal band Wet Nuns, former This Heat & Camberwell Now drummer Charles Hayward, hardcore group Perspex Flesh, French cold wave innovators Charles De Goal, intelligent indie from Joseph Coward and Australia’s Scott & Charlenes Wedding, cosmic heaviness courtesy of Teeth Of The Sea, dark drone from East Londoner Moon Zero, death-doom band Indesinence, riot grrl grunge from Skinny Girl Diet, plus Beards and Shopping and more to be announced.

EAST END LIVE will sit side by side with the East End Film Festival’s mission of discovery in cinema, and reputation for celebrating the combination of live music and film by extending the festivals music arm for a stand-alone, one day, multi-venue festival.
