Feel My Bicep
Terrence Parker

We’ve been counting down the days for our blog to get its very own Bicep takeover and finally its here. As one of our favourite versatile voices on the grassroots of rare house, techno and disco gems, we’ve enlisted Bicep to shake things up for us in their own freeform improvisational style ahead of their Room Three hijack with Gospel House hero, Terrence Parker this Saturday night. In a full throttle ride, fasten your seat belts as the boys go all out revealing new releases, the launch of their label and five Terrence Parker tracks to really get you in the mood.

The highlight of the year so far has definitely been the release of $tripper, hitting the likes of Juno Number One for 8 weeks and selling out whilst still at the top spot was great. Summer is proving to be very exciting with our residency at We Love… Space and our debut at fabric being two slots that we are looking forward to a lot. That combined with a release on Will Saul's brilliant Aus music label, we couldn't be happier.

We have also just finished the first EP for the launch of our very own "Feelmbicep Records", which will drop late summer and something we are stupidly excited about. The label will be 100% Bicep productions with fairly regular releases.

We are really happy to play with one of our musical inspirations at fabric this month. Terrence is one of the most amazing live DJs we have ever seen perform, more than your average house DJ he brings the fun element back that seems to have been lost with house music over the last few years.

You can see Terrence doing his thang here… chopping' and scratchin' it all up in his unique way with his signature telephone in hand.

For the fabric blog we decided to pick our favourite 5 Terrence Parker cuts to get you in the mood….

Seven Grand Housing Authority – Love's got me high

We dropped this classic on the Boiler Room recently and were surprised at how many people have never heard it before. It's an amazing jam that has hasn't left our bags in years, everyone NEEDS to hear this.

Terrence Parker – Your Love

‘Your love is so fresh ah… your love is so fresh ah…’

That loop just gets lovingly stuck into your brain. Recently we’ve been revisiting this classic track, so deep but yet mesmerisingly simplistic it locks you down to the floor.

Terrence Parker & Claude Young – The 4 Play EP (Untitled)

Two geniuses combine on this phenomenal record which is nearly 20 years old but still sounds fresh as the day it was made. The vocals just cut right through and the shuffled 909s make you wanna groove. Summed up perfectly by one youtube comment; "This type of flow "for me" was the best time in the history of House! It's just spiritual! Deep chords, shuffle rhythm, hard kicks… sigh! <3 Easy listening House"

Terrence Parker – Let Your Love Show

TP showing his versatility, going all Todd Edwards on this one. Summer vibes and jacking beats, one for the sunnier occasions.

Terrence Parker – Now Is The Time

If there is one man to get emotion out of a piano TP is your man. Every note seems to strike a chord with my heart strings. Stripped back beats that just make you want to dance.
