Wholemeal Presents:
Wholemeal Presents: Oris Jay, Marla, Second Line, Esselle.
Friday 17th June 2011, 11pm – 5am.
Wholemeal returns to that East London institution The Rhythm Factory in June for another 100% FREE party with another lineup well worth making a fuss over.
Sheffield’s Oris Jay has been in the game longer than most Wholemeal punters have been alive. From early origins fusing Garage and Breakbeat (yes, before 138 Trek) to dragging the darker, more dub inflected sounds from Garage under his Darqwan alias, Oris has always resisted the hype and consistently pushed his own agenda. A regular selector at the seminal FWD>> sessions at Plastic People, Oris has been a driving force behind dubstep’s darker, more pensive strains but we’re excited as hell to have cornered him to dust off his encyclopedic collection of Garage and US house gems for the Wholemeal cognoscenti. Those that know are in for a treat.

Recently signed to Cooly G’s prolific Dub Organizer imprint, Marla has been a Wholemeal fave for a while. His productions take in tight, insistently steppy drums, spacious pads and attention grabbing basslines that belie his young age. Check his Soundcloud HERE
We’re pumped as pumas to have him down to spin for us. Keep an eye out for an exclusive Wholemeal promo from him coming soon!
Second Line has been catching the ears of some of London’s finest selectors recently – the last six months have seen his tracks caned by such luminaries as Ben UFO, Subeena, and BunZer0 and we at Wholemeal feel it’s a crying shame he’s not been let loose on a dancefloor as a selector in his own right. One of the freshest new talents in London is going to spin heads with his debut DJ performance. Soundcloud
Wholemeal’s Esselle jump back behind the Rhythm Factory platters after a brief hiatus, keeping the dancefloor in line as only they know how. Expect dancefloor bombs sourced from Brazil to Berlin and possible full frontal male nudity.
Free, Friendly, Fking Good Fun.
