tusk festival 2013: lineup announced

The final round of line-up additions for this year’s TUSK Festival, taking place in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in mid-October, are announced today and include:
– Longstanding luminary of UK psychedelia Neil Campbell aka ASTRAL SOCIAL CLUB, also featuring in the now-traditional one-off TUSK trio formation with fellow Vibracathedral Orchestra soldier MICK FLOWER andOREN AMBARCHI
– Maverick improvisor and filmmaker HUGH METCALFE performing soundtracks to his Super 8 films
– Two Mark Fell sound installations (in addition to his live set at TUSK), “64 Beautiful Phase Violations” and “Sonic Materialities”, opening at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art from October 11th (more details to follow)
– Tokyo sonic warrior BLACKPHONE666, bringing his unique set-up of old-style telephone receivers primed for noise for an exclusive appearance outside of Japan
– Sheffield’s generation-spanning ecstatic and blissful grind crew ROMAN NOSE (featuring members of The Hunter Gracchus and Clock DVA)
– The usual sturdy line-up of Newcastle’s finest including plucked zither playerEDWIN LI, stratosphere-vaulting rock from MIDNIGHT DOCTORS, free association vocal loon GWILLY EDMONDEZ, maximalist drone mavenCULVER, turntable/tape/tonsil duo WAX MAGNETIC and adventurous choral ensemble NOIZE CHOIR
