Weekend of sunshine and no showers… cant be March still can it?!

We thought wed give the pub an early spring makeover. Hope you like the new paint job as much as we do.

As we career headlong into April and real spring theres big things this weekend in the form of Nancy Noise (of the legendary Shoom/Spectrum/Future) down these parts playing for Big Fun on Friday. Nancy played at Future and Spectrum with Paul Oakenfold and Shoom with Danny Rampling. The fact is she was on the whole thing before either of these pioneers! One of the original gang of Amnesiacs who discovered the Balearic Beat in Ibiza. The rest really is history. Nancy played at every important club of the original Acid House scene, often with her partner in crime Lisa Loud, and were so pleased shes agreed to give her brilliant box of tunes a rare outing at BIG FUN! Elsewhere in Bethnal Green this week… well not elsewhere, right here but elsewhere in the week weve got the incredible Man Make Music crew taking over the Star on Sat night followed the next day by Sunday evening DJ session with PD Funk – its free entry & roasts, as always will keep pouring out the kitchen til 10pm.

The Star of Bethnal Green Needs You!!

We are looking for a promoter / group of DJs to take on Sunday night at The Star (monthly or weekly) from 8pm till midnight.
Sundays not about banging techno or dustep down the Star. Think your more 80s, guilty pleasures pop, funk, soul, disco anything goes. Easy listening, good times aural pleasure for a Sunday evening after a hard weekend!
We serve roasts till 10pm, so its an ideal time for people to come down, grab a late roast and have a little boogie.
We wont be charging on the door, so you will get a split of the bar – the better the night, the more you earn!
