After two vibrant and busy years on the scene, putting on intimate parties at various London establishments and showcasing a sound synonymous with today’s thriving and dynamic bass music arena, Soltek return on June 30th for their 2nd Birthday bash at the CAMP Basement.
Staying true to their ethos and to mark the occasion in style, Soltek have put together a lineup that’s sure to tickle your taste buds and make this one hell of a party. First up we have Coat of Arms, and if you haven’t heard of them, where have you been? A musical duo comprising of Chris James & Eats Everything, they have a mutual love of big bass, melodic chords and slick beats and are fast becoming the one’s to watch in 2012. "Is This Something" the boys debut record was put at position number 3 in Mixmag's Top 10 Feature for August 2011. Get Physical's Heidi has bigged the lads up in her DJ Mag column. Jamie Jones has featured "Is This Something" in his Live Essential Mix from Ibiza On Radio 1, as well as his debut Fabric CD mix. With previous releases on renowned labels such as Pets Recordings and Futureboogie, and with plenty of exciting material in the pipeline, it’s easy to see why these guys are starting to become hot property.
Next on the bill is a young gentleman who has certainly been making a name for himself of late, Graphics. His recent tracks and remixes have been picking up support from the likes of Jamie xx, Mary Anne Hobbs, Diplo, Switch, Rob Da Bank and he made waves in 2011 with his releases for Granholme and GETME! With just a handful of 12s Graphics has shown that he is as equally adept at crafting up front dance floor cuts such as “Wiping the Eye” as he is at producing low slung off-key electronica bits like “There’s a Way Back”. Cited by KMag as one of the Top 10 bass producers to watch out for in 2012, it’s safe to say that Graphics is destined for big things this year and beyond.
Support comes in the form of a back-to-back set from Soltek residents Daffadam and Medlam, alongside special guests Optimus Times and Tommy Blunt. Not forgetting our resident VJs Mind Over Matter who will be providing our live visuals and effects all night long.
